Helping communities achieve their sustainability goals!  The University of Delaware's Sustainable Coastal Communities Initiative (SCCI) is in the business of unleashing the power of citizens to transform their communities.  We use approaches that focus on civic engagement that generate solutions from community participants rather than being enacted from the outside.  Our leadership and strategic processes help to innovate creative solutions that deliver productive change outcomes.

We believe a community's success depends upon having an organized, active and informed citizenry; competent, inspirational, honest, and forward-thinking leaders; and, responsible, caring and effective community institutions, services, and businesses.

We certainly don't have all the answers, but we can offer training, technical assistance, information and guidance in the hope that our coastal communities can solve their own problems.  We invite you to check out our website in the hope that you learn more about the work that we do.
